Letter from the Principal - Brad Toole
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This week our school will be celebrating NAIDOC Week, an important event in Australia that honours the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year’s theme chosen by the National NAIDOC Committee, is The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy
The theme celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors.
NAIDOC Week, which stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee, provides an opportunity for our school community to recognize the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, as well as to deepen our understanding of their rich heritage. It is a time for us to reflect on the significant role that elders play in indigenous communities and the wisdom they impart to younger generations.
Throughout the week, our school has organised various activities and events to engage our students and encourage them to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
By celebrating NAIDOC Week and focusing on the theme "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision, Legacy" we aim to instil a sense of respect, understanding, and appreciation for the elders within our school community. Through these activities, we hope to strengthen the bonds between generations and foster a spirit of unity and inclusivity.
I encourage all parents, students, and staff to actively participate in our NAIDOC Week celebrations and embrace the opportunity to learn and grow together. Let us come together as a community to honour and celebrate the rich heritage and wisdom of our indigenous brothers and sisters.
Pupil Free Day
Our first day of Term 3 will be a Pupil Free Day.
The first day for students in Term 3 will be Tuesday 22nd July.
Have a happy and safe holiday.
Remember, classes resume Tuesday 22nd July at 9.00am.

NAIDOC WEEK
The theme for NAIDOC Week 2025 is "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy". This theme celebrates the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week and focuses on honouring Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience, while also looking forward to the future and the contributions of the next generation.
God of all creation,
from the beginning you have spoken through the land,
and through the voices of the First Peoples who have cared for it with wisdom and reverence.
We thank you for the cultures, stories, and spiritual strength of Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We honour their deep connection to this ancient land, a connection that reveals
your presence in all things.
Holy Spirit, move across this land. Inspire us to walk gently, speak truthfully, and act justly.
Unite us as one people, many cultures, sharing one faith.
May your Church be a sign of hope, a community of welcome, and a voice for justice and healing. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
FEAST of St JOACHIM and ANNE - GRANDPARENTS LITURGY
Joachim and Anne were Mary’s parents and the Grandparents of Jesus. Joachim and Anne were greatly honoured by God who gave them a daughter conceived without sin who was to become known as Mary, Mother of God! It would seem that they performed parenting responsibilities with great grace.
Their feast day on the 26th July is a day to honour them and all grandparents for their contribution to our lives.
Please join us at our Grandparents Liturgy led by Year 2 and Mrs Clift on Monday 28th July, 2025 ( Term 3 – Week 2) as we celebrate all our Grandparents and those who fill this role in our lives.
VINNIES WINTER APPEAL
Thankyou, to the families who donated clothing, blankets and money for our Vinnies Winter Appeal. Mr Toole delivered these to the Vinnies shop this week and they were very grateful.
YEAR 6 DIOCESAN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEST
Our Year 6 students recently sat the Diocesan Year 6 RE Test. Congratulations to all the students who worked hard to prepare for the test and achieved great results.
Six students earned a Distinction and seven students earned a Credit.
A special mention to Tia Tito who achieved our highest score with 36/40.
We are very proud of you all.
SPORT
Northern Region Athletics Carnival
The Northern Region Athletics Carnival will be held in Dubbo on Wednesday 30thh July 2025 (Term 3 – Week 2). An information note was sent out to those students going to this carnival and permission will need to be completed in Compass. Mr Toole will be driving a minibus for those students not attending with parents. We encourage our athletes to keep up the training over the holidays.
KOALA Club - Kindergarten 2026 Transition and Orientation
We have planned our ‘Koala Club’ transition dates and parent information sessions for people that have students that will be starting in Kinder in 2026.

Kindergarten 2026 and New Enrolments
Reports
Our students have been busy working hard for two terms and should be proud of their efforts this semester. Reports are now available on Compass. Please contact the class teacher if you have any queries or the office if you have any trouble accessing the report.
We will be holding Parent/ Teacher Interviews in Week 2 next term to discuss reports and set goals for the remainder of the year. Booking for these meetings will be made via compass.
School Beanies
The school is now selling beanies for $18. They are available from the Uniform Shop and the School Office. They can be worn on cool days. I would advise students to have their hats in their bags so they can change later in the day if it warms up.
Student Wellbeing
Kindness
We are always striving to teach the children at All Hallows the importance of kindness. We strongly encourage kids to be kind and generous by:
- Helping students recognise acts of generosity and kindness. Even in movies and stories.
- Praising their acts of kindness that we see.
- Talk about being grateful for the things that they are fortunate to receive or have in their lives.
- Talk about the positive impacts of helping others and how it makes the world a better place.
- Create opportunities for kids to share their generosity with others.
- Sharing stories where you have been on the receiving end of kindness and how it makes you feel.
